Night flying check out
This course qualifies pilots holding a PPL-H for flying at night (between official sunset and sunrise).
Having successfully accomplished a night flying course and
check-out, the holder of a PPL-H may fly according to visual flight
rules (VFR) at night.
The course is held at EHC/Torp and comprises operational
procedures and 15 hours flight training.
Course syllabus (15 hours flight
training):
- Night operational procedures (theory briefings)
- Night flying training (dual)
- Night navigation (2 hours dual)
- At least 5 landings at the airport (solo)
Qualification requirements for issue of the night
flying approval:
- The candidate must possess a valid PPL-H
- The candidate must possess a valid JAR Medical Approval Class 1
or 2
- The candidate must have flown 100 hours helicopter after
the issue of license
- The candidate must have flown at least 60 hours as PIC
- The candidate must have flown at least 60 hours navigation
flights
- The candidate must have attended a Night Flying Course at an
approved FTO
- The candidate must have passed a Night Flying check-out
