Flight instructor FI (H)
Implementation of JAR FCL-2 training regulations and high demand for new helicopter pilots, have caused a shortage of qualified helicopter instructors.
EHC is an experienced Flight Training Organisation offering
well-proven Flight Instructor courses and training in compliance
with NCAA and JAA regulations.
FI-H admittance requirements according to JAR-FCL 2.335:
A candidate holding an ATPL-H or CPL-H must have acquired at
least 250 flight hours of which 100 hours shall be as PIC (Pilot in
Command).
A candidate holding a PPL-H must have acquired at least 300
flight hours of which 200 hours shall be as PIC. A candidate should
be in compliance with knowledge requirements for CPL-H, ref.
JAR-FCL 2.335 - AMC 2.470 (b).
The candidate shall have received at least 10 hours of
instrument flight instruction of which not more than 5 hours in a
ground based synthetic FTD (Flight Training Device or Flight
Simulator) - FNPT ll (Flight Navigation Procedure Trainer).
The candidate shall have completed at least twenty (20) flight
hours of navigation flying as PIC. The candidate shall have passed
a selection check flight not later than six months before the
course start-up per requirements in Appendix 3 of JAR-FCL
2.240.
The check flight shall be done with a Flight Instructor
[qualified per JAR-FCL 2.330 (f)].
The selection flight shall provide information for an assessment
of the candidate's suitability for Flight Instructor
responsibilities and ability to complete the training.
Theory Training
Candidates shall prepare for a written examination following two
weeks of self-study. After having successfully passed the
examination, one week of comprehensive classroom instruction
including written tests shall be undertaken.
Flight Training
Upon completion of theoretical training, the candidate starts on
the Flight Training Programme. Flight Training normally lasts for
four (4) weeks and consists of 30 flight hours of which 5 hours can
be shared by two candidates (dual).
